On Thursday night 30-Sep-10, we were hosted at yet another cocktail party, this time arranged by the CCIP (Paris Chamber of Commerce) & the Business School (Advancia Negocia).Yet again, very high ranking individuals were in attendance, i.e. the SA Ambasssdor to France, the chairlady of CCIP, the Corporate Executive of Advancia Negocia with all his trainers & lots of other business people from the various host companies across Europe.
Once again, it was all laid on and we had a great time. I get a sense of feeling that the various VIP's that we've come into contact with have eventually taken the bait on all the highly complex stuff we have been speaking to them about & we're now ready to do business after confusinfg them into submission. We've come to realize that if we continue talking the big business talk & the person/people that we're talking to don't understand us lekker, chances are, they will probably be embarrassed to ask us what we mean so they will accept & then we have a unanimous buy-in.
After the cocktails, we decided to go out & have some "night-caps" at St Michel, Notre Dame (quite a good party-life district). With us are Wonga Mancotywa from Intertoll Africa, Samir Bhana from SAB Miller & Pavan Maharaj from Sasol Wax. All very accomplished guys - degrees, post grad qualifications & either done MBA's or are in the process of completing it (WOW), what an inspiring bunch of distinguished gentelemen to be surrounded by.
